Annual Accounts Services in Bristol & Across the UK
Annual accounts summarise your business's financial activity over the year, prepared accurately and filed on time.
How we help with annual accounts
Your annual accounts summarise everything your business has done over the financial year. We prepare them accurately and file them on time, keeping you compliant with both HMRC and Companies House without the last-minute stress.
Beyond compliance, a clean set of accounts helps you understand your profitability and financial position, and gives lenders and investors the confidence they need to support your growth.
What's included
- Meeting HMRC and Companies House requirements
- Calculating your tax liabilities
- Understanding profitability and financial position
- Supporting funding and growth decisions
Who needs annual accounts?
Every limited company must prepare statutory annual accounts each year and file them with Companies House, and the same figures feed into its Company Tax Return to HMRC. Sole traders and partnerships don't file accounts publicly, but they still need accurate year-end figures to complete their Self Assessment tax returns.
Whichever way you trade, good annual accounts do more than keep you compliant. They show how profitable your business really is, and they're what lenders and investors look at when you need funding to grow.
Key deadlines for limited companies
- First accounts: due at Companies House 21 months after the company was registered
- Annual accounts: due at Companies House 9 months after the end of the financial year
- Corporation Tax: payable 9 months and 1 day after the end of the accounting period
- Company Tax Return: due 12 months after the end of the accounting period
Companies House charges an automatic penalty when accounts are late, from £150 for accounts up to a month late to £1,500 for accounts more than six months late, and the penalty doubles if accounts are late two years in a row. Preparing your accounts accurately and filing them on time is at the heart of our annual accounts service.
What goes into your year-end accounts
Preparing annual accounts means bringing the year's bookkeeping up to date, reconciling every bank account, and making the year-end adjustments that give a true picture of the year, such as accruals and prepayments, closing stock, and depreciation on equipment and vehicles. From those figures we calculate your tax liabilities and prepare the accounts for filing.
Our guide to year-end accounts explains each step and what you'll need to have ready, and our year-end checklist helps you get your records in order.
